Neal, a Vice Chairman of General Electric Company, will function an Executive in Residence at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School from October 14 via October 16, 2013. During his residency, Neal will take part in a full schedule of activities during which he'll offer his professional insights to the college’s college, college students, and management. “I am happy to announce the arrival of Vice Chairman of General Electric Company Michael A. Neal as Carey Executive in Residence,” said Bernard T. Ferrari, dean of the enterprise college. “The Carey Business School Executive in Residence program was established to deliver college students and school along with executives from influential businesses. Mike Neal’s profession exemplifies onerous work, commitment, and leadership, and he has graciously agreed to share his insights with us here at Carey.” Events that includes Neal are deliberate for the varsity’s campuses in Baltimore and Washington, D. C., as well as the flagship Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins University. Among the scheduled events are conferences with: Neal’s residency will conclude with a public presentation in the enterprise faculty’s “In Person at Carey” collection at 5 p.m. Wednesday, October sixteen. The GE vice chairman and Dean Ferrari will share their views on business matters in a conversation earlier than an audience at the Bernstein-Offit Building, 1717 Massachusetts Avenue NW in Washington. Michael Neal joined GE in 1979, working on the company’s industrial aspect. In 1987, he moved to financial providers and was named Vice President and General Manager of Vendor Financial Services. Three years later, he grew to become General Manager of GE Commercial Equipment Financing (CEF). Under his management, CEF grew to become the world's largest supplier of financing for equipment of every kind. From 1994 to 1999, Neal served as GE Capital Executive Vice President â€" a period of main development for the company’s monetary companies companies. In 2000, he was named GE Capital’s President and Chief Operating Officer. Two years later, he grew to become President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Commercial Finance and President of GE Capital Services. In 2005, he was named a Vice Chairman of General Electric Company and Chairman and CEO of GE Capital. A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Neal serves on the advisory board of the college’s Scheller College of Business School, and on the advisory board of Georgia Tech’s Sam Nunn School of International Affairs.
